A&K Equity Membership

The A&K Residence Club is not your typical destination club. A&K Residence Club is the largest equity-based club in the destination club industry. Unlike non-equity clubs, A&K Residence Club members own the club and have direct input into how club resources are used. All the residences are owned debt-free. A&K manages the club on the members' behalf.

Ritz-Carlton Destination Club Exchange Program

Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club and The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club have forged a new exchange opportunity for the benefit of their Members. This strategic alliance presents Members of both Clubs an expanding universe of extraordinary destinations only these two renowned companies can provide. The collaboration allows Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club Members access to Ritz-Carlton Destination Clubs collection of 10 unique luxury private residence clubs with locations in the United States and the Caribbean. This residence club collection includes Ritz-Carlton Club properties in Aspen, Vail, Bachelors Gulch, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Maui, Jupiter Florida, Bahamas and St. Thomas.

Membership Levels

The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club currently offers three categories of equity memberships, each one tailored to fit the needs and lifestyles of their Members. The three levels of membership available from A&K provide either 15, 30 or 45 nights of vacations each year.

A&K Residence Club 2010 Member Survey

Each year members of the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club (AKRC) cast their votes in an Annual Member Survey for the Best Home and Destination Host, which are combined with post-stay surveys submitted by members throughout the year. Top honors for “Favorite Home” go to Osprey Point on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, located on the prestigious Vanderhorst Plantation. This magnificent 4,200-square-foot custom home has wooded views of the fifth tee of the Osprey Point Golf Course. Club members describe it as “a great escape” and cited “the excellent location, great golf and choice of activities,” along with the relaxation and pampering provided by the spa at The Sanctuary. Located in the Charleston area, members consider it a perfect home for year-round indoor and outdoor living, with access to five world-class golf courses, 10 miles of sun-swept beaches and over 30 miles of paved bike trails. Kids enjoyed Kamp Kiawah at the Night Heron Park and Nature Center.

But the real secret behind the family holidays orchestrated by the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club are the professionally-trained local Destination Hosts, who provide an orientation to the home, answer questions about the destination, provide driving directions, and help with restaurant reservations and tee times. Marlene Welfeld, on the Big Island of Hawaii, was voted Best Destination Host of 2010. Originally from the Midwest, she was drawn to Hawaii 12 years ago. However, it’s more than the weather that keeps her there, as she says being a Destination Host for A&K Residence Club is “probably one of the best jobs you can have. I’ve gotten to know so many members, it’s like welcoming family back when they return.” This sentiment is obviously returned by the members who nominated her as Best Destination Host: “Marlene goes out of her way to make us feel like we are at our 'home away from home' and really is a great host.” “Marlene goes over and above to take care of her guests. Membership Pricing

Membership options available include 15, 30, 45 and 60 vacation days per year with cost ranging from $175,000 to $475,000 to join.
